#maybe its because its been fuck knows how many years since i watched 90% of c1 #but i actually find the way they're changing things up super fascinating #i have questions to be sure and i think they're all having so much fun watching people go THEY'RE NOT GONNA PERMAKILL PERCY ??#(they're obviously not going to leave percy dead)#but because so many things have been folded on top of each other to keep the pace in this several hundred hour campaign adaptation #idk! i just think it's neat! obviously we're not done with ripley yet so we'll see what happens there #also people being like “i didnt need a sad backstory for ripley” like that wasn't the most obvious vehicle to introduce the assembly #a lot of these scenes they're adding in or folding together are doing a LOT of work #the storytelling action economy is honestly astounding #like don't get me wrong i get why people are weirded out by it (i am too! It's strange!) No, seriously. Mephiles boss fight was so dang fun for me??? Legit the first stage I want to S-rank asap.

I never liked the Doom Morph skill. While Dash and Flying are easy to do because you just have to hold the Y button for the both of them, you have to press the B button for Homing Attack BUT hold the B button for swinging around with the Doom Morph skill. My brain cannot compute with the different button input! I often lost a lot of times and rings because I forgot to hold the button to swing, causing me to fell to my death.

CASE IN POINT:

Yeaaa...platformer games are not my strong suit...

However, in Mephiles boss fight, you won't fall to your death because the area is wide and circular. The cumbersome Doom Morph gimmick was enjoyable to play there and I was grinning from ear to ear from start to finish.

Ugh, I love this boss fight so much. If Mephiles had to come back and ruin the world just so I could fight such a fun boss battle once again, I would welcome him lickety split XD

#sonic x shadow generations #sonic the hedgehog #shadow the hedgehog #mephiles the dark #black doom #the spin attack of Doom Surf in Metal Overlord was a bit weird because it moves diagonally #there's a loophole in biolizard fight where you can just stand to the left of the mouth and the energy ball won't hit you #and Black Doom boss battle have the cumbersome Doom Morph gimmick + hardcore parkour #so yeah #Mephiles boss fight is the only fun boss to play for me #it's like a comfort area after all the fast pace stages of everything #because Shadow dash is hella fast and I am still reeling #but if i don't go fast i won't get good score #sonic games are for those who loves speedrunning games #and I'm not one of them lol #still trying to learn how to draw Shadow #idk why but his quills are so hard to draw

just all of this from moa regarding frank/hazel/leo. the most uncomfortable romantic tension ever because nobody understands it and nobody involved wants it to be there

especially "Hazel's eyes glittered like gold. 'Gold is easy,' she said. It didn't seem that way to Leo--not when he looked at her." like we can interpret this in a few ways. what an interesting thing to think about a girl you just met

and the whole "if this is a private special thing that she's only done with her boyfriend then I either really don't want to try it or I really really do want to try it" like STOP cut the cameras

That's very subjective!

For me personally, I'm totally fine with how it's played out. We get enough tidbits every season/developments with their dynamic that I'm pretty content. I also just think that when the time comes, how they choose to reveal that information to us (and especially to MK) will have optimal impact!

#but maybe it's not pacing that works for you and that's fine #the experience of pacing is subjective by nature #alright *puts on conspiracy cap*#to me it seems like they're wanting to throw another wrench into MK and Wukong's relationship next season #s4 was so heavily focused on Wukong's flawed past and there was a lot of buildup about his and mac's relationship in the s4 special #and then s5 had a lot of weird hints/info #specially with the stone/nine or whatever #and that weird wukong nuwa framing in 5x08 #And 5x01 kinda lampshading Wukong knowing about MK + his reincarnated friends #Like feels weird don't it #(WHICH. He could totally have not known about MK. But I still wanna learn more about why he wanted a student in the first place)#There are so many directions next season could go #But the direction I hope for most is really continuing 5x04 stuff #Like idk I personally feel like we didn't fully unpack Monkey MK. In certain aspects anyhow #And it's like omg 2 seasons later and we finally resolved the to pain scene!!!#But we haven't really resolved like. ''Hurting the people who care about you the most'' aspect of it. The 3x10 and 4x08 parallel #So like the hurting each other angle. after adventure is thrust upon him, he travels to find His Radiancy and they go on some otherworldly adventures while growing closer and figuring out the nature of their friendship

#At The Feet Of The Sun #lays of the heart-fire #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #giggling and kicking my feet. and also crying #bro the yearning….the yearning #I can definitely see why this loses people - it’s so long and very self indulgent #(listen. i enjoy it a lot . but does it need to be THAT long (i just checked. 375k? lord))#but it is easy to read and also very funny. it felt less repetitive than the first book to me #I did find it hard to keep track of some of the side characters though #The first world-travelling stuff caught me off guard initially - I feel like all the weird magic was more background in book 1?#or maybe I just didn't pay attention.#taking a step back it is a bit like - kip sure does achieve everything and then some and just continues to achieve everything huh #and it gets to a point where it's like.....okay yes I get he's so talented at this etc etc.#but I guess it’s a nice change of pace from the kingly swordfighting fantasy protagonist who’s perfect and wins everything -#someone whose skill is people and negotiation in a humble way is a bit more interesting. still. it maybe felt less grounded after a while?#the deep exploration of platonic yearning and desire for strong friendship and fear over that person just wanting romance/sex #when that’s Not what you want out of the relationship………#not to mention his complex feelings over meeting two people who were like his platonic soulmate rolemodels #and then finding out they just used that term because gay relationships weren’t accepted and trying to not be disappointed #(because gay is also good!) but also like. so lonely in feeling like nobody understands his desire for a platonic soulmate #to be treated equally as romantic relationships are. oof #I am a little baffled to see people interpret it as a romantic asexual relationship?#I feel like that does such a disservice to the . everything that has been set up in what 600k words of books #like the implication of that is that you think other romantic rships w/o sex are unheard of in this world. I find that hard to believe idk #(I mean - a bit romantic on fitzroy’s end; and in the nebulous queerplatonic area between friendship and romance; sure #but like a straight up romantic relationship just without sex - I don’t understand how it could be interpreted that way lol?)#(anyway other people’s interpretations don’t matter)#I do have questions about the telepathic dinosaur soulmates. you can’t just mention that and now show me them #also. kip being like 'wait there were sirens? i wonder if i can hire them' kshfkjsgkf #asexual books

i hate to jump on the "i think i might have adhd" bandwagon, but if i think i might have adhd, how do i bring it up to my care team as a 28-year-old cis woman who was a massive overachiever until i couldn't keep up the ruse anymore?

#idk what happened when i got laid off it seriously is like my brain BROKE i cannot do anything #i have not done much of anything in a year. and i think it's bc my coping mechanisms were 1. self-medicate but ESPECIALLY do that while #2. overcommitting. because it kept me busy and distracted. i excelled in school because i could focus on it without it giving me anxiety #school was honestly almost the only thing that didn't give me anxiety as a kid. and i never felt quite Right like i didn't feel like i fit #in with my peers. i've always felt like a human being that isn't a person. like something's not quite right. i excel but i feel like i'm #doing it wrong because it's SO hard for me. i graduated my BA and BS programs with a 4.0 #but it came with the cost of alienating all of my friends and family and becoming really reclusive and weird and distant and anxious #but i really just wanted to do well at the one thing i felt i was good at. which doesn't seem like something i should take note of #idk. my life feels like a claustrophobic box. i feel like i'm buried alive and i can't get myself out because i can't work #because i can't focus. but maybe i'm just stupid and lazy and want everyone to take care of me forever so i can continue laying around doin #fuck all. which i do a lot because i'm chronically ill. idk. like is there ground to stand on here. i literally have zero friends rn #and i feel so so so sos so anxious any time i am working because i worry i'm going to do something wrong or forget to do something or make #lots of mistakes that get me in trouble. i'm so scared of making mistakes it keeps me from doing anything at all. but i get so anxious bc #i'm not doing anything! i'm wasting time! and i can't focus on anything when i AM working because i have to get up and pace #like i HAVE to move around or i start to feel like i need to peel my skin off like i'm an orange #like. is it anything at all. or is this just me being someone who has Other Stuff going on
